Sunday morning July 15th was a bright shiny day when Elgin Lodge #12 and Rebekah Samaritan #120 hosted what turned out to be a huge success with both a large attendance and enough donations to fill forty boxes. The boxes, by the way, were filled with a variety of merchandise and non-perishable food and desert items to be sent to the 82nd Div.1st brigade 2nd battalion 504th airborne infantry bravo company 1st platoon, which is comprised of approximately
35 soldiers stationed in Afghanistan. A hearty breakfast was served to all who attended.

At the June 7th meeting of Rebekah Samaritan Lodge #120, Rebekah Kelly Gallois, a member of both Samaritan Lodge #120 and LEA #173, received a $1000 Scholarship from the Oddfellows and Rebekahs Scholarship Fund. Presenting this award were both of her parents, Noble Grand of Elgin Lodge #12 Matt Gallois, and Judy Gallois, Chaplain of the Samaritan Lodge #120. Both parents are proud of Kelly’s academic achievement. She will be attending Rush Univerisity in January 2011 as she continues her advanced education towards a Masters Degree in Nursing.

I believe in the Fatherhood of God, the Brotherhood of man, and the Sisterhood of woman.
I believe in the watch-words of our Order – Friendship, Love and Truth.
Friendship – is like a golden chain that ties our hearts together. Love – is one of our most precious gifts, the more you give, the more you receive. Truth – is the standard by which we value people. It is the foundation of our society.
